Are Alessi stainless steel products dishwasher safe?
Yes, 18/10 stainless steel items such as cookware and cutlery are dishwasher safe. However, for stovetop espresso makers, dishwasher use is strongly discouraged as harsh detergents and high temperatures can alter the taste of the coffee. Furthermore, aluminum components or rubber gaskets must never be placed in the dishwasher. -
Where are Alessi products manufactured?
All Alessi products are conceptualized and developed entirely in Italy. The production of the most complex and historic cold-stamped stainless steel items (such as kettles and coffee makers) takes place at the historic factory in Crusinallo di Omegna (Piedmont). For other materials and/or types of processing, Alessi relies on top-tier specialist partners in Italy and abroad under strict quality controls. -
What is the difference between monoblock and hollow-handle knives in Alessi cutlery collections?
Monoblock knives are forged from a single piece of stainless steel, offering high durability, strength, and a balanced weight for daily use. Hollow-handle knives are crafted by joining two separate pieces and utilizing two different types of steel: this achieves a structurally lighter knife with a perfect balance between the blade and the handle, highlighting refined craftsmanship and formal elegance at the table. From an aesthetic point of view, the two types of knife are almost identical, with the hollow-handle version showing a slightly visible joint between the blade and the handle.
